Morning, day 12

Sectors owned(defenses, if any listed in parenthesis):
North Road
Road Block
Safari
Dam(5 IMA mercs)
Rail Station(1st mercenary squad + 1 IMA merc)
Mines(3 IMA mercs)

I have no upgrades(I used to, but they must get destroyed when you lose a sector).

As you can see, I have a total of 9 mercs.

My net income after salaries = $-1438 per day. I have $3722 left.

At this point, the game is very frustrating for me. It seems that I end up playing a shell game with the dictator's forces. When I leave a sector to attack another, they then attack and recapture a different sector of mine which has no defenses. It's as if the dictator's forces are cheating and just happen to know which sectors have defense, and which do not.

Anyway, I need to somehow get back into the black and start generating some income.

If you were me, what would you do?

I'd try my best to take over another zone. If need be let the solo merc go who's at the rail station just to get yourself back into the black. Also have your miners striked on you? If so how did you solve it? You could be loseing alot of money there like I did if you killed the strike leader. Also another good way to save money.. even if I personaly don't like it is to use russian weapons ammos sooo much easier to get. Also if you could manage it get all your mercs together and move them to attack towns together as fast as you can. If you don't take alot of damage you might be able to take over afew places in a day. 9 people make doing this much easier then only 5.

Yep, I resolved the strike successfully by commiserating with the strike leader. I get $14,000 per day from that sector.

Sarge, if I understand you correctly once I control the airport, then I can "teleport" into any threatened sector instead of having to drive there?

No. You fly in a helo. It is a much faster mode of travel.

Ya forgot about the airport, Very good payday from that and it's super useful when you can zip teams anywhere you need them to be in about 10 game min. Faster then anything the dictator has. Bit of a pain to take.. At least for me but I did it with 1 team of mercs... Heck the only map I took a second team with me on was the palace. But I'm alittle crazy.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I took the road to the Airport, then the airport itself. Is it true that you can leave the airport undefended? According to the written blurb on the road to the airport, anyone going to the airport must go through the road to the airport. So I wonder if I can safely leave the airport undefended if I keep the road to the airport well-defended. 

I'm pretty sure that's how it works, I don't remember the airport ever getting attacked on my game. They always went for the road to the airport... to be safe though I'd suggest putting at least 1 upgrade into the defenses.
