Excess A/C in air units question

Might it be possible to transfer a/c only out of a unit, either back to the pool or another unit ?
Occassionally get an understrength air unit that upgrades to full a/c allocation, but is stuck with a few good pilots. Want to arrange for a flew elite full strength units by merging them but hate to "waste" a large number of new/upgraded version a/c that is far in excess of the TOE for the unit. [&:]

Then easiest way to get excess planes out of your squadrons is to convert them to something else then convert them back (this assumes PDUs are on).
If PDUs are off, you SoL.

What would be a nice feature? Removing planes from on map units to the pool? Not a feature, never will be.

Not to be a pain, don't mean to, but unless it's a programming issue, don't see the problem with transferring out if we can transfer in ..... I'm sure if I did everything right, no need to, but things happen and transferring out could be as important as tranferring in ......

Actually the same is true for pilots as well...... Think of building your own (or at least manipulating your own) pilot TOE for a given unit .... Could create one kiss ass unit .....
I know, I know ..... SoL ....... ;<

Pilots must be made transferrable from one unit - to pool - and to any unit one chooses
As in add new pilots (promt screen) select pilot name from list
Also aircraft payloads should be selectable from a menu on the squadron screen (i.e. Betty 4 x 250 KG, 12 x 60 KG, 1 x Torpedo)

This has actually been discussed at length. It wont be in the initial release (time constraints) but Im pretty sure its in the patch list.

I can only imagine my reaction the first time I forget to set this correctly and my strike pounds a little MTB squadron into oblivion while a big fat CV TF sails by without a scratch - and probably sinks my CVs in the process.
It's only a matter of time, just ask my PBEM partner... [:(]

I hope that it doesn't happen of if does it is just an increase in chance. In many battles there is no luxury of choice.

Certainly orders could be given to which vessels to prioritize --> similar to orders in which Submarines are ordered to target merchant vessels as opposed to warships in early WW2.
Doctrinal effects are considered of far broader (and therefore strategic consequence), within the boundaries of the strategic commander, much more so than details such as attack altitude (which was usually determined by the tactical commander, rather than admiral Nimitz)
