Hello, i've just bought the full game and started playing yesterday after trying out the demo, and I'm wondering if anyone else is having this issue?

I've noticed that the voice/sounds are not accurate when I hire the original mercs from the demo. When I click on Dagger for example he starts laughing. When I click on Ghost he makes the sound as if he just got shot. when I order Venom to move somewhere she makes the dying sound which just sounds so inappropriate for such an action.

When I made my own merc and when I hire "non demo" mercs their sounds seem to be fine... I reinstalled the game, tried without the patch, tried with the patch... but they still don't seem to have their voices correct. Is anyone else having this issue ?

Yes. Annoying.
I "fixed" it by rearanging sound files in folder \basis\sounds\Mercs

you would not happen to remember or have written down which sound files you changed around ? im afraid of making a mistake and making them sound worse hahaha

just go to \basis\sounds\Mercs\ and choose one merc that is annoying.
For example, "ghost" usually makes that screaming sound (go to \basis\sounds\Mercs\ghost and open 106.wav)
Now, copy 121.wav (empty sound file) from that folder to, let's say c: and rename it to 106.wav. Move that file to \basis\sounds\Mercs\ghost and replace that old file.
 
Screaming sound for "ghost" are files 99.wav to 110.wav
