unloading aircraft from AKs

As a Japanese player, this has never been a problem for me.

Playing as an Allied player, when an AK with embarked aircraft reaches port, or even at the original port of loading after the aircraft are loaded, I am unable to disembark the planes. The buttons transfer to base and transfer to ship - and almost everything else - are greyed out.

This seems to be universal - not just a one case deal - but any and all cases where allied air units are loaded on an AK.

Any suggestions?

Very strange. As your opponent (both Allied and Japanese), using the same mod, I haven't encountered this problem at all. Planes simply offload as cargo with no need for buttons.

Usual problem i've run across is that the player is trying to unload the planes at a base without an airfield... i.e., port=1 but nothng else.

However, this does not seem to be the case for you since you say you are unable to unload them at the same base the aircraft was just in... Can you provide screen shots?

Just use the load and unload troops button in the ship section not in the aircraft section.
