A couple of mods

A couple of quickie mods I did to improve the look of BG Napoleon.
Being a bit colorblind my eyes weren't enjoying the "flourescent" maps so I toned them down a bit to a more pastel hue. It allows me to see the units and bases more clearly.:

The red "X" for visible hexes was a bit much as well so I made a shadowed marker to show blocked hexes.

And lastly (for now) I modded the nationality flags for AOS and now red will show up as red, not black:

Simovitch,
Where can I download your mod to tone down the graphics?
Many thanks,
kam

kam99, I'll pull together the Napoleonic mods and post them to the games depot, like I did for BGCW. There have been some improvements since this thread was started.
I'm up to my elbows in BFTB stuff right now, so it might be a week or so.

Great looking mods, simovitch. I really enjoy the tweaks you made to ACW. Where can I get a hold of these, particularly the toned down graphics?

If you go to the link simovitch provided in his 5th post I believe the mod is at the very bottom of the long list.
Is that fairly easy to do? Personally what I'd love is to change the highlight colour in Napoleon in Russia. In Waterloo/PTW when you highlight units they get a nice bright white line around them. In NIR I can hardly distinguish the colour of highlights on units, it's green on green I think...I may also be a little bit colourblind!

There was a list of files there at the bottom of the page, I copied the one called "losedit", however I wasn't sure how to integrate it into the game.
here is the link again:
Archive
There's a 101 scenarios and then the editors/updates.
A great site to wander around anyway, the tactics articles certainly helped me learn the game.

Sorry guys, I missed these posts.
The map files are huge (700+ MB), so they are kind of hard to upload anywhere that I know of.
The Nap icon graphics are small though. I'll post them to the Wargamer's Games Depot site today.

Hey thanks for doing that, much better. Looks like you changed the 2D icons in NIR to the ones used in PTW/Waterloo (i.e. the Russians are now red not green...seems appropriate). I can actually play NIR now because I can see the highlights on the units [&o]
Thanks for taking the time to keep these games up to date. I'll have to get the scenario editor so I can start fiddling around with that.

i.e. the Russians are now red not green...
Somethings not right there - I didn't change Russians to Red. Try copying the files into their respective folders manually.

Are these mods still knocking around. The previous links aren't precise enough anymore and the files offered have no description or obvious name. Can anyone point out the exact files required?
Cheers,
Mike

I'd like to at least get the fix for the buggered flag colors in Age of Sail. They all look like negatives as it is.
