What does the future hold?

I just recently purchased a copy to play multiplayer with my brother (although I haven't had the chance yet - all that I have done to date is single player scenarios).

The last CC game I played was the origina Bridge Too Far. I love the concept and that is what led me to get the game.

I won't rehash the criticisms found elsewhere on the board about the lack-of-a-campaign issue. But my question is: is that a possibility in the future (either as patch from the company or a mod from a dedicated gamer)? Is it possible or does the hardwired code prevent it?

In looking through the game folders there is a folder labeled "Campaign". Is that a shell for a future upgrade or left over from a previous reworking of another CC game used as the model?

Its left over from other versions. My guess is the exe looks for the existence of the folders before displaying the main screens and allowing you to play the game at all.

Most CC varients have a lot of commonality in the code line, since one version evolved into another. However, I would not hold your breath for a campaign in this title. This was to be the commercial version of the training tool (game) that the Marine Corp. uses. It has no campaign, by design, and it was primarily intended for H2H play. However, I find the AI functions about as well as CC5, and the lethality of the weapons gives the AI a better chance of taking out your teams. Its a nice simulator if nothing else and for the most part the UI is very easy to use.
