Is there a way to design scenarios from the American Revolution with TOAW or is just too modern to do that?

It is possible with the 19th century equipment database, which can be downloaded here.

That's very cool...do you know if there are American Revolution scenarios out there? How well do these work within the context of the game engine?

I found an old Century Of Warfare scenario "Long Island - NY 1776", but converting it to TOAWIII caused some event errors which I haven't come around to correct yet.

I don't know why I'm being such wuss on buying this game. I bailed on it and JTCS while the sale was going on. NOt being a "true" wargamer I think has me worried about taking the plunge and being able to figure out these type of games. It seems like TOAW has a fantastic online following with all kinds of scenarios, etc.

I found a TOAW demo with the Korean War from 50-51 with it and I won the scenario fairly easily really not knowing what in the heck I was doing with unit types, etc. Perhaps it was an easy scenario for the communists to win with which is why it didn't matter but in a way it scared me off a bit because somebody with little to no experience won so easily.

Did you play with the Allied forces as PO? Either way maybe you're a better player than you know.

The PO(AI) 'Elmer' is also better now than he was in COW, which helps. I found that the key to having fun for me was when i quit worrying about memorizeing the rules, and jsut played.
