Hi guys; I'm new here so I don't know if there's been a post about this before.
I just downloaded the 5.01 patch for TGS and saved it to my computer. I then unzipped the file and went through the whole installation process. Everything went fine.
Problem is, when I start up the game it still says "version 5.00" on the title screen. I have no idea whether the patch was ever installed.
Now, I'm not the most computer savy guy around (oh lets be honest, I'm not computer savy at all).
What did I do wrong?

Look and see if there is a stars.exe file. That should be the update, if I remember correctly.

Rename it to the original game start up files name.

Failing that... make a new desktop shortcut using the stars.exe file to start the game.

Regardless, you must start the game with the relsultant update file not the orignal game .exe file.

I think the original was Starshater:TGS.exe or something like that.
