I received my battles in normandy game, but no manual came with the CD.

Can someone from Matrix please contact me.

I created a problem call, but have received no email back.

That game is Digital Express m8. That means it doesn't come with a printed manual. The manual is on the cd in PDF format.

Matrix games come in 3 flavours

Digital Express = no printed manual
Standard = black and white printed manual
Collector Edition = 3 Colour printed manual

As far as I know, no Collectors Editions have been made yet. This edition will be reserved for high volume sales items I think.

The game info page also states PDF eBook only

Whatever happened to the logo and color coded system. Small print at the bottom is very easy to miss. tm.asp?m=1679330

Nothing happened to it. We still use the logo and color code system.

I thought I had read on this website that all games which are shipped with a cd come with a physical manual.

Is this not the case ?

Well...according to the link provided by hadberz here

this section reads as if you are correct...
A Standard Edition is a game which comes with both a printed black and white manual and an electronic PDF manual. The boxed version of a Standard Edition includes a shrink-wrapped color double DVD box, a black and white printed manual, and a color printed CD (or CDs) to install the game. This designation will be rolled out later in the year to new releases and the existing catalog.

The game page suggests no printed manual, however, looking at that excerpt, it seems a black and white manual should have been provided!!

Ahhhh.....I remember now that although the "colour scheme" was going to be applied to all products in the catalog, the "rules" for the colour coding were only going to be applied to new games and, iirc, a possibility of re-doing the older games.

In other words, BiN was before the colour coding scheme and therefore not subject to it's rulez....so no printed manual I would guess

I didn't look deep enough. The color code and logo are on the order page, not on the product overview page. Might be a good idea to have a legend, then again my eyes ain't what they used to be, might be one there already. :)

Almost all of our new releases come with manuals, but it's important to pay attention to the edition logo and the game specs to make sure. "Standard Editions" are those with printed manuals, "Digital Express Editions" come with the e-book PDF only. Most of our older releases (such as Battles in Normandy) did not come with a printed manual at release and by and large still do not have one. That's why those are labeled in the store as "Digital Express". Apologies for any confusion, we're working on adding a definitions page to the store for new customers who aren't familiar with our system.

Regards,

- Erik

I think I need a rest [:(]

I'm sure, as per my post #7 that I read on the game page it was Standard Edition, yet in post #2 I already said it was Digital Express! [&:]

It's always been listed as Digital Express, not sure where you could have seen Standard?
