The main hold-up is that it takes about a month for physical copies (which include printed manuals) to be readied, and that's not including the 2+ weeks of work that WCS and Matrix have to do internally to prepare for release before that once the "gold" versions of the game and manual have been created. Since both the game and the manual are close to gold that countdown will begin very soon. If I'm not giving a precise date it's because I've learned my lesson never to give precise, or even approximate, dates. Reading this, though, I think it should be clear that this is not a release that will be dragged out for month after month. (Not at this stage, at any rate!)
In most respects the game was "very close" back in August, but it turned out that ship graphics took far longer than anticipated, and the addition of new scenarios and changes to the existing scenarios delayed work on the manual. So if not for ship graphics, scenarios and the manual, back in September/October there was a version of COG:EE that probably could have been released, at least in terms of the code. But we've used the time since then to improve the game further (which included a revamp of how PBEM works and making a much more efficient system) and get a lot more testing done, so in the long run the delay was a good thing.

Can't wait...seriously, I loved CoG (although it did ahve a quirky interface), but I got used to that interface through Forge of Freedom...
If you boys have done anything like the stellar job you did on Forge of Freedom, it's going to be superb!

i feel a bit out of sorts really because i was so close to posting on here about once ive purchased WitP:AE and WiF and possibly CMSF:Normandy ive gone to gaming heaven and probably need no other game - ever - and this one just pops up on the radar out of nowhere (for me) and it looks amazing.
The out of sorts feeling is because i have agonised waiting for AE and still am, WiF is 'coming along' and CMSF:N is nowhere near and here this game is all nearly finished, ready to go, ready to be paid for and played and i dont feel i deserve it as i havent had to wait 6 months biting my nails for an update and a release
Again, well done, it looks simply stunning, the AARs sound great

Got the debit card in hand.........Still playing Forge and it is excellent.........Since Forge was so well done, you are setting the bar pretty high, but this one looks great.

I don't think I've ever been disappointed with an impulse buy from Matrix tbh
ooops....yes I have...Cross of Iron. Quickly discovered that "revisiting the oldies" isn't always a good thing.

What the? CD SCHMEEDEE. Let me do the digital download as soon as its gold and put me on the list for the physical copy and manual whenever you get around to it.
I want to play this game now!
