Back in the dark past before the invention of electricity (and when my Tandy computer didnt even have a hard drive) I owned a (paper, of course) grand strategic game covering, if I remeber correctly, just the Eastern Front. Units were corps and armys, but what really made it unique were the counters, which were all hexagons.
I've been driving myself nuts the last couple of weeks trying to remember it's name. Does anyone have any idea as to what it might be? It was an AWESOME game.

Were the Russian unit sort of pink looking? I remember a game, I believe called East Front, that had hex shaped counters and some wierd rules, so many Germany units were reduced for frostbite in the winter and such.

Yes they were, except that I seem to remember that Soviet Gaurd units were kind of a brick red. East Front was the name my petrified ROM was giving to me as well, and sure enough, a more carefull search of boardgamegeek.com has turned it up. Now to find a copy!

Mike, do you remember Avalon Hill's Russian Campaign?  That game kicked butt.  I lived 3 miles from the place. 

I always loved AH's Stalingrad.  That and Midway turned me into a wargame geek!

Third Reich sucked me in.  Then when AH put out Squad Leader..., that was it, hooked for like.
