Just wondering how big the close combat pool of players is.
could matrix give us a idea how many players are out there that own this game.
Are we talking hundreds, a few thousand, tens of thousand or just me my wargame bitch and a few nerds on this forum.

Would be nice to know,

Greetz.

Nerds?

I resent that remark, I don't deny it, I just resent it.

Besides, how could anyone with "the Great" in their moniker be anything but? [8|]

One more here !
My wife once moved a Sherman about 10 metres along a road. (before the eyes glazed over and she called me a few things i'd rather not repeat on a family oriented forum) Could this technically be called another "player" ?

One more here...

...but I'd better admit: my other forum aliases are Yogi the Great, Andrew Williams, Ultragott and flying scotsman...so I guess it's back to 2.
But I am David's wargame bitch, that much is true!

I'm a reformed player of Closs Combat.

Some idea of total users past and present can be found in the number 834,335.

That is the derived number of copies sold of CC2 by Microsoft. CC2 was the best seller of the series.

Does a "reformed player" play Closed Combat or Closet Combat?

On the numbers side, 4.5 of my pesonalities play CC, three do not.  The .5 is for Gron, who starts a battle, then covers the monitor with a cardboard box and fingerpaints scenes inspired by the battle sounds, or lack thereof.  A bit of a twit, he is, and constantly behind on paying his share of the rent.

OK, now you're in direct violation of "don't ask don't tell" [:D]

Never wargame with women. They *always* win!

thats a coincidence... been wondering about this. came home, started computer, started thread, felt satisfied then saw this thread, same question different words

tm.asp?m=2016851

PS many alias' scattered across the interweb, nothing malign just a shocking memory for passwords, usernames etc

PPS More Nerdish that full blown nerd ie no glasses let alone glasses bound together with tape and the glazed expression of a mere semi nerd when Scuzzi drives and DOS are mentioned

So that makes 11... or 18.5 if we're to believe Drill

Is that correct?seems like an awful high number.
If so what would it take to get back to that I wonder?
Or am I just too out of touch lately?
I play CC but I dont seem to do much H2H anymore.

The Microsoft brand name can explain the high number, I have no idea of CC 5 numbers, but i know it was sold last year in a cheap edition for about 5 euro. This boosts sales figures .

I got CC3 in a pack of breakfast cereal about 3 years ago.

Had a choice between it and age of empires.
