Spartan Question on Starving

Occasionally, a drought happens just when your food stocks are a bit low and your trade capability is minimal. Food runs out (and warnings are given). I went nearly a whole year with no food and didn't see a result. Does something actually happen?

These older games keep surprising me. Doesn't seem like there's been a whole lot of advancement (except possibly graphics) since they were made as they play quite well. Looks like I'll be with this one for a while.

If you run out of food your troops will starve and start to desert and your happiness and population growth should be hit badly. That's all from memory though - it was 5 years ago I set up the effects :)

Thanks; I ran into the situation again and did notice the growing red bars on my troops. The first time I paid them no mind. Haven't seen the happiness change, though, but as a conservative, I do tend to keep the taxes low [:D] .
