Help Building New Bases

Hi Again Folks,
Figured out my way around building a basic scenario. Now I'm trying to get a bit more ambitious (probably my first error!) [:D] Anyway, can someone please advise what I might be doing wrong? I'm trying to build a Caribbean scenario using the new battleset. What I can't get a hang of is building a base. Two questions:
1. I'm looking for a real-world base, (i.e., Patrick AFB in southern FL), is there an easy way to find it in the pick list? It would be nice to find an easier way to sort the picklist for a region or state. I'm also assuming that you can't take a real world base and plant it somewhere where it doesn't belong, so I can't put Patrick in the middle of Haiti or Cuba (at least I would hope that's the case)?
2. If I try to build a custom base, I pick some of the INTL prefixed options, but it doesn't seem to give me the option to actually place the base anywhere in the map. Am I doing something wrong here?
Thanks for any tips!
Regards,
-Armando

Hi Armando,
1. I assume you are looking for it in the SE (Scenario Editor)? The listings there are sorted by country so you would be looking under USA. You can indeed move any installation anywhere you want it using the 'Change Group Position' command in the scenario editor. There are some Generic airfields under the INTL country for that use.
2. Can you give more detail? One note is that you shouldn't have more than 2047 installations in your database. If you already have 2047 then you'll need to re-task an existing base to your new use instead of creating a new (2048th) installation.

I am wondering, too, what database you're using? A custom database of your own? The official database for HCE (the HCDB) won't contain installations for the new battlesets (including the Caribbean), but there are other databases, such as the HCDA, that will. The HCDA, for example, has Patrick AFB.

Hi Tony and Brad,
Thanks for the replies!
I am using the standard .044 build - it was an installation over the original .028(?) that was I was provided by Digital River.
I am using the standard database and scenario editor. As far as I know, I have made no changes to the Database. The only utility I have run was the Clean Config when I ran into that minimized window problem at the beginning.
The biggest problem I have is when I select a Generic Port or Airfield item for the side I am populating (one of the INTL entries as you pointed out), the Group Map tends to jump "up" to the North. Then the pop-up dialog box appears prompting me to populate it with A/C, vessels or vehicles/bldgs. I tried adding some small items to it, such as 1-2 ships, but when I hit Close, nothing appears. I check the Group map at Minimum Zoom (1x) and I cannot find the base that was just supposedly built.
If I may, I would like to provide a sample to both (I guess via e-mail - I just tried uploading a zip file and a .SCV and neither were accepted). I temporarily gave up on the Carribbean scenario and made more progress on my other mini-project - a "CTF-151" scenario around the Horn of Africa using the new battleset map (although the old IOPG map is a better match because entire coastline of Somalia is modeled) - I just like the textured map better. [:)] I was trying to build a RED base on the island off the point of the Horn.
If it's a matter of switching databases, no problem. this noob just needs some tips on what to do please. Thanks much.
Regards,
-Armando

The generic base does not appear because its default location is not actually on the map you are using. What you need to do is finish creating and populating the base. Next, tap the space bar to cycle through the existing bases and units until the newly created base is the active group. Finally, use the 'Change Group Position' command to move the base to where you want it.
