'losses' report

The 'losses taken, losses dealt' report - is that for the current turn, or since the beginning of the game?
It is for the whole game, but defeated nations drop out, which I wish were not the case. The "bean counter" in me would like to see the stats preserved. It also does not include losses from "odd" events like amphibious landings, and disbandings.
