If you haven't checked it out, you should. Sounds like progress (however slow) is being made on the new WIR.

Yes indeed it does. I was wondering why there is not a forum channel for this game, I note that the massive WIF has had its own forum room for years, why not one for War in Russia II
or am I totaly blind and cannot see it for looking :s

Matrix generally doesn't like to put up a forum until the product is very far along in development. They've been burned over the years with many projects that lasted far too long on the forum before release (and in some cases no release). At this point we don't feel the need to have a public forum (we have a beta forum for the testers). We are making good progress, but it is a bit subject and a big game.

Not trying to teach the experts, but I hope the game is not too big. Even the old WIR had a facility for the AI to run some operations and even some HQs (albeit in its own primitive way). I have bought all of Gary's games since the 1980s on the Atari, to support the effort in a small way, but the super games don't get much use because of time constaints. It is nice to be able to dip into the detail, but also be able to act on high strategy and not get bogged down. [:)]
