19410624 : We campaign alone no more. The Axis have invaded the Soviet Union. The loss of Tobruk is saddening, but we know the Axis will have their hands full with the Red Army.

Some notes on TriplePlay : This a PBEM game between Gary Gardner, playing the Comintern, Etienne Gaudreau, playing the Axis, and myself with the Western Alliance. Gary and I are not planning on conflict between ourselves after the hoped for defeat of the Axis, so we intend to co-operate quite a bit. I would rather win on VP however so I may favor my nations just a bit.

I believe this game, RtV, I mean, could lead to a hot war between the former allies, but I do not think it was likely between the actual parties. I do think the two nations had their own interest as well as alliance interests and I hope to reflect this.

At the least we should see multiple styles of play.

19410701 : We enter the Med with naval forces, determined to put up a vigorous fight.

19410708 : Lots of naval activity, but we do not have a strong feeling for gains and losses. In North Africa the Axis disbanded their trapped forces and pulled back. We expect them to take a strong position in Tripoli, but we are a long way from there yet.

19410716 : No combat this turn, and the Italian fleet is not in the central basin. Recon reveals plenty of Italian infantry in North Africa however. In the Soviet Union the SP loss advantage is about 46 to 20 in favor of the Axis.

Odd fact, can anyone explain how the Germans are credited with .1 SP of Vichy France destroyed? They are not at war!

19410724 : We besiege Tobruk, and move about the desert, but no combat. The activity is in the Soviet Union.

19410801 : Things are quiet in the desert as we continue our siege of Tobruk. We notice naval activity in the Baltic.

19410808 : Churchill is pleased to take Tobruk back.

19410901 : Nights are beginning to cool in Russia.

19410916 : We continue operations in North Africa with our LRDG sliding by Sirt. Will the Germans send any forces to North Africa? We continue to persue other joint operations.

19411001 : Winter approaches.

19411016 : Campaigning on two fronts.

19411201 : I seem to have missed a turn. Last turn we solidified the front in Italy, and established lines of communication to Tripoli.

This turn was much of the same.

19420101 : Happy new year.

19420201 : The USA has entered the war. We stop lend lease to Great Britain and the USSR till we can gain sea control.

19420216 : We have cleared North Africa of Italians, which is a big deal, although the battle in Italy and Russia tends to distract attention from it. American infantry is arriving in southern England.

19420301 : It is getting crowded in Italy.

19420316 : Desert Rats on the prowl.

19420401 : Busy British beavers.

19420416 : We are receiving major attention from the Axis.
