Hi all,
I have two questions.
1-I'm new to the game! It seems I have a problem with one of my air unit! It is Feb 5 1942. It is the 7 BG LB-30 Liberator with 48 plane base at Dacca. The mission is ground attack at 7 hex ranges, the unit as a moral 57, leader aggression is 67. It is stack with the HQ of 225 Group RAF and others bombing group. I'm not over stack the city air capacity is 5 and I have fighter escort. All are attached to Southeast Asia. All the other bombers in the hexes attack! But this unit stays there and don't want to attack! Why?[&:]
2-Why is my attacks are always pieces meal and only a few aircraft? The Jap is bombing me with a big concentration of aircraft?
Thx

How is supply? And is anything else selected, like naval search?

Welcome to the game and to the forums. With Morale at 57 I would expect few planes to fly. Also look at te weather in your area. Leader Inspiration is very important, it needs to be high , leader aggression doesn't have anything to do with helping to get the planes in the air ( I think ). There are some good threads discussing this, I will try to post them later tonight after work , assuming I remember after my cocktail hour.

There was a thread on this (about why planes won't fly) just about a week ago, iirc... check out:

Especially note DRTravel's post that does a comprehensive review of "flight failures".

Basically there are a lot of variables that go into a squadron's decision to fly on a mission. Strength of enemy CAP over the target, distance to target, leadership, morale and fatigue of the squadron, weather and supply are the ones I can think of right off the bat. The best you can do is see if they'll fly on a shorter ranged mission to a lesser defended target.

The "Doh!" answer I found on a similar situation was that I had the bombers set with a maximum range that was less than the distance to the target. The dang navigators just led the pilots over to the officer's club after every mission briefing!

If the other planes in your hex are flying (to the same target), it's not because you're getting rained out.
Make sure your supplies are in the white (ie, more than 2x required). Less than 2x supply, and your 4e bombers will fly a lot less often.
Higher exp also seems to help (esp vs. Ground Attack mission).

Ground attacks are particularly iffy for the Allies w/ low experience and distance to target issues.

Tanks guys, I did fly the Bombers on a night mission to Rangoon and it did work. I will see if they can do the same on a day raid!
