COG tutorial

Why does the woman's voice in the tutorials sound like she has her head in a pail?
Although they are fast-paced in order to keep the time down (after all, there IS a manual), they are very good as a quick introduction to the game.[&o]
Howeer i am dorry that there is not a tutorial like the previous version where you move the pieces, cause the mind boggles when you start this game.I am actually doing the tutorial from the original game (with the new game) cause I haven't played in years and don't have a clue what to do.Also the strategy guide from the previous version has also been left out of the manual.[:-]
Also the Napoleon advice at the start disappears too fast on my 3GHz computer before I have time to read it, because the timing apparently depends on the speed of the computer and not on the clock![:-]

Yes, unfortunately the video tutorials were also one of the last completed pieces and with the decision to move through production quickly, there wasn't time to re-record or re-master the sound. I'm not sure how much we could have done without re-recording honestly, which was not really an option.
While the audio quality could be better in terms of not having that "speakerphone" echo, the audio is still clear enough and clean enough to serve its purpose and the video tutorials overall are excellent.

Without sounding to sexist a woman's voice is a poor choice. People that suffer from nerve deafness, have trouble hearing sounds from the higher decibel levels, the young and women tend to have higher pitched voices, making them harder to hear. There being a lot of ex serviceman playing computer games, means a good percentage are probably nerve deaf. No offence is intended, but if you do intend to sue me, please use a male barrister so I can hear him![:D]

Maybe that's the real reason that men used to play the women-characters in Shakespeare. [:)]

Bah, even a Frenchman like me could figure what she was saying (somewhat difficult at times though..) - but heck, she has a hell of a nosey voice, or did she have a flu ? [8|]

If you want to hear what she sounds like on better equipment, watch/listen to our promotional video for "Forge of Freedom," which you'll find among the tutorial videos.
And then, while you're still under the spell of her enchanting voice, buy FOF! (That's the only way to break the spell.)

After watching the tutorial videos I had trouble understanding some of the concepts because of the 'head in a pail' recording. To undo a move I thought she said 'Press Command Shift E' rather than 'Press Backspace Key'. [:D] Had to quit out and search through the manual to realise my mistake.

I did buy this game but had never played a game like this before so I'm a total newbie.
And to be honest, while the tutorials are nice and the game manual is fine too, I'm clueless. The intention of doing the tutorials is great but I would like to have a tutorial scenario which would have been covered by a manual as well as a video tutorial covering the scenario. This would help me a lot.
At the moment I feel lost.

Yeah, sure that's MUCH better ! (and I had nothing personal against the gal... [;)]). Too bad the recording was rushed for CoG EE- but I already have FoF since its release or so .. [:D]

You have to play it backwards though, for the secret message [:D]

Actually she sounds much better from loudspeakers. With a headset, it is really just like a head in a pail.[:D]
So if you have a choice, listen to the tutorial from your speakers.

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the learning curve. If you post some more questions in a new thread I'm sure folks would be willing to help you figure things out.
