Its that time again! Spring Training is in full swing and its time for Matrix Fantasy Baseball! We will have three leagus again this year - a Yahoo default Basic League, A weekly league for those without the time to manage their team daily and the Pro Team.

The Basic League is #162550 (Auto Pick Draft)
The Weekly League is #162619 (Auto Pick Draft)
The Pro league is #162668 (online draft Saturday Mar 21 at 1:30 pm Eastern)

The passwords are all Matrix.

The Cows franchise is all signed up. Two leagues this year - what the Hell, I'm going for it! Good luck to everyone and spread the word so we can get more teams to join. This is a generous and fun activity run by Mr. Vebber and Matrix Games. Thanks for doing it. And as far as I'm concerned, baseball is still the greatest game ever invented by man! Back in the Weekly League, and I figure I'll give the Pro one a try, too...never done a Live Draft for a Baseball league before.

The weekly league is proving very popular with 10 teams! We need more folks in the basic and pro leagues. Its really not that much more work, You can set your pitching rotations 2 or 3 days at a time and then you just need to check your offense in the late afternoon to check any lineup changes. The online draft is a TON of fun al by itself in the Pro league.

I'm looking forward to upholding the honor of The Thread Brothers once again in the Weekly league.  [:)]

Come on guys - we need one more team for the Weekly League to make 12. And the other two leagues definitely need some more participation.  
Paul, is there a minimum number of teams needed to launch a league? My experience is that you need at least 8 teams to make it interesting.

I'm hoping we can get some more guys before next weekend (I signed up in all three leagues) - the leagues are light this year. Personally, I find fantasy baseball so much more fun and interesting than the football. Baseball is every day and you have more decision making and influence on your team's results. And it's freakin' free to boot! Guys should be clamoring to join this with a free Matrix game as the prize.

Yes, if you've done up custom rankings, the system will use them for it's autodraft of your team.

Anyway, no problem on the snafu. Hopefully it can be around the same time next weekend, because I have ANOTHER live draft at about 4 pm Mountain Time that day. [:D]

Bump...REALLY need an 8th team in the Pro League by the Sunday draft!

I have managed to defend the house in two of the three leagues, but there is a drubbing going on in the weekly league as Northern Empire powers behind the unlikely duo of Mark Teixera and Albert Callspo on offense and the rivals Jon Lester and Joba Chamberlain together with Andy Pettite and Mariano Rivera on the mound. USS America Orioles just has not been able to put up the numbers, down 19-3 as we go into the weekend. Alex Rodrigues, Miguel Cabrera and Mat Diaz have been solod, but Brandon INge, Shane Victorino and Nick Markakis have had dismal months. On the mound You know when your aces are Bronson Arroyo and Jair Jurrjens you may have some trouble. Carlos Marmol has been a pleasent surprise, but not enough to get it done as of yet. A dozen categories are still up for grabs so despite the lead, a comeback is possible! THere were a couple Sunday turnaraounds in the Semi finals (including my comeback in the Pro league from 5 or 6 down At least one other Sunday Miracle occured as well!

Still a lot baseball this weekend! Good luck to the remaining competitors!

A reminder (that I screwed up!!) THe finals between Northern Empire and USS Americas Orioles is a TWO WEEK FINAL. It goes until Oct 4.

The Fantasy Baseball leagues are up. All paswords are Matrix

MatrixBasic Baseball (ID# 184009). This is the Standard Yahoo Style league. Yahoo changed theirs slightly. This is the same as last year

Matrix Weekly Baseball (ID# 184037). This is a weekly head to head league (same as last year exceppt it actually is weekly this time ;(

Matrix Points League (ID# 184205) This is a new style Yahoo added a head to head points league. The team with the highest total points for the week wins.

And to add a little fun this year, Matrix Loser League (ID# 198717) This league is set up to give high scores to players who play a lot, but strike out, make errors, lose and blow saves, and generally screw up, but still are in the lineup every day! Its funnyto see how some of the "good" players also score high on the Loser Lineup... This is also a weekly Head to Head points league.
