Game lock up

When I start PureSim, it goes directly to a splash screen with an outfielder jumping at the wall, but it locks up there. No action with mouse buttons or keyboard. I have to use task manager to end the "not responding" program.
Any ideas?

Try creating a desktop shortcut for PureSim2k7.exe. Do NOT use the Autorun.exe. If that fails in starting the game properly, you might wanna consider uninstalling/reinstalling it.

Thanks for the tips KG, but neither of those ideas worked.

I have went over the game requirements, and I meet all of those, so I can not figure out why this is not working for me. I played puresim 2007 on my old computer, but it gave up the ghost, and I can not get this one to run, and I am getting frustrated.

If you are running on Vista, you need to review the thread about installing PureSim on Vista.

Well, then, could it be your video card? You've got the latest version of DirectX, right? Does anyone know if PS has any known issues with modern video cards/drivers?
I seem to recall that Shaun had posted a special debug version of the game when another gamer had problems. Anyone remember the link?

I have a G31/G33 intel express chipset. I updated the driver just in case that was the problem. It did not help either. How do you determine what version of Direct X you have?
Does Shaun ever read these topics, or is there a way to let him know my problem directly?
Thanks KG for the effort.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. Type dxdiag, and then click OK.
3. On the System tab, note the version of DirectX displayed on the DirectX Version line.
4. On the DirectX Files tab, check the version information for each DirectX file.
5. When you are finished checking file versions, click Exit.
If Windows cannot find the dxdiag program, DirectX version 5.0 or earlier is installed on your computer. If this is the case, download and install the current version of DirectX.
To download the latest version fo DirectX, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

THIS MAY NOT BE YOUR PROBLEM I AM TELLING YOU A SIMILAR INCIDENT
I had a similar problem. I would try to click on something in the splash screen and it would go away but nothing would happen. I determined that a registry entry was missing. I had to reinstall my OS then it worked great.
