Let's try getting another PBEM going for us newbies to the game. Simple Economy.

Any takers? If so, any preference on power?

Maybe we take an approach like EiA (and Franck's idea [;)])where you bid glory points (the lowest starting glory for each power gets that power) for each nation.

France
Prussia
Sweden

Sorry Andrew I'm not so sure it's a good idea for Newbies, my reasoning being they ain't got enough experiance to know about the different Nations and therefore what to bid, they could end up taking a stab in the dark and get lumbered with either too high or too low a bid.

Bidding would be fine in my opinion, if somebody goes completely nuts in the opinion of the group we can do a rebid.

If this is still happening and have not started yet, I would be happy to join (if you want one more guy that is). Am fine with playing anything but Sweden (Just plain wrong for a Norwegian to gain European supremacy for Sweden [:D])

Jammy and you being the only 2 who have both put in the same nation on your preferences ie Prussia, let Jammy make his call Prussia or Sweden, then you choose one of yours, thats 2 down, soon as we hear from Andrew, Terge & IW with definate calls we can narrow it down even further, then if other folk join in before we start they get whats left.

Sounds good I guess.

I wonder if there are even still enough players here though, some havent been heard from in days.  I think we should try to start a game with people we know are going to be active.  Me you matto and a couple other guys from our old game plus a few new guys.

Maybe start a 3rd game in case this one is already a bust?

Kinda frustrated with people leaving right in the middle of a game.

Just noticed this is simple economy, would prefer advanced, but that's ok... just want to get something going.

I don't really have any preferance on nation... will take whatever. Pick one out of a hat if need be. [:D]

I think Andrews idea re the simple econ was so we CoG Nubbies could practice before getting on to the 'hard stuff'
 
Anyone any thoughts on scenerio? IMO it needs to be a long one else there is bog all you can acomplish 'Developement wise, doesnt matter too much if someone does get the 1000 GP quickly the game can still carry on and have another winner at the end
 
IW would you be OK taking France? it would mean you would have to set up the game and email the 1st turn to everybody else.  After that the last player recieves all the finished turns, merges them, then does his turn and sends out the end of turn file to everybody, all players then do their turn and return to last player and so on (least thats how it's been explained to me)
 
A 'Just in case', can everybody interested in playing please make sure they have ticked the 'Notify me by email when someone replies' box so we all get replies quickly.
 
PS unless desperate can I please add Russia to my "No's" I'm playing it in another gamr so a change would be good.

I'd be ok with taking France, let's see what Andrew has in mind in case he wanted to take them. Might be better to keep it open for now though, in case a new player comes along that wants France. Once we get enough players I'll take whatever.

For scenario it seems like a shorter one would make more sense with simple econ, but doesn't matter to me. Just thinking that if this is more of a practice game we probably wouldn't want a longer scenario. Plus I'd rather have control of econ if it's going to be a longer game.
