cede provinces from Britain

I have had a war against Britain forever, so I decided to attack on land. And at last they surrender, but I could not cede any provinces from Britain. Can I do anything, so that can happen? I ask, because they are warmaniacs - they declare war all the time, and those wars sems never to end unles I loose a lot of men on the Island - and I want to avoid that.
I play 1792 scenario as France.

I believe you need to have an adjacant province to be able to claim a province from a nation due to a surrender treaty. With GB being an island that becomes hard.
But what I did to make the Britons to think about declaring war, was to force their surrender, and force them to scuttle a staggering 52 ships, after that they never declared war on me again for the next 10 years [:D]

Win the first war vs England and take there islands from them, then when it is time, go to Total war, and take them out

... I just defeat them and then force them into a very long term alliance. Solves the problem of them DOWing me in the future. For real fun I force them to protect me... I love it when the Royal Navy helps defend me...[:D] I don't know why you'd want to wipe them out in a total war. They're very useful if you do it right and don't wipe out their fleets.

because they have some of the best production lands in the game, plus in Path of Nappy, that is part of your goals
and treaties and Allances can be broken, most times on a whim
and on a side note, if I plan on takeing them down, I am not worried about there Navy, most times it is on the bottom of the sea already
plus the question was on how to get them to Cede Provinces to you, defeating them and gaining an Allance, is not getting there Provinces

HS: We just play different styles of gaming [:)]...
I like to leave them intact and have their navy run interception for me. In my current game they've even been kind enough to land an army on the continent tying up one of my opponents while my army is off somewhere else until I can return with my main force.
In fact I think I can’t think of instance in any COG I’ve played so far where I’ve wanted a total war to eliminate someone… I always find a use for them… generally as a buffer… but hey it works for me.
oh and if you use the "Enforced Alliance" on them they can't break it. Very handy treaty option really. I just make it last for three years at a time. I can usually even get them to agree to one while at peace by offering to repect some of their desired neutrals (usually one's I'm not interested in for now.)

I thought that as France you could demand Kent? Calais/Picardy is next to Kent (sort of, across the channel). If you can't demand provinces on the island of Britain because...you don't have any adjacent provinces actually touching their provinces, then you can never demand anything from them...because none of the provinces on Britain actually border a foreign power. Can someone please confirm?

I have tried, and as far as I can see, there is only one option: total war, unless I have overseen something.

Same experience here, even had
ALL British provinces captured for a 18k pt victory. Still not able to claim any province.
Pg 98 in the manual: Cede Province – The specified conquered province or provinces are given by their owner to another nation. The player proposing the treaty chooses the province from a pop-up map; only island provinces or provinces adjacent to the other nation may be chosen.
Which does not really help as GB is an island, but I guess that what is ment by the term island provinces are those islands that are made up by only one province (Malta, Corsica etc).

I do believe TW is your only option for Britain. I haven't heard of the Kent/Calais connection before so not sure where that came from, perhaps original CoG where the adjacency rule was not in effect (or added later, can't remember).

yes, the only way to take any of the English Home Provinces is to go to Total war
