What is the criteria for the various awards given out each year? For example, it looks like the Batting Title goes to the highest average for the season. Based on this I thought the Pure Slugger award would go to the highest SLG for each position, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

To tell ya the truth, I don't pay much attention to the individual awards. I focus more on how the team fares. Honestly, the players of that time probably could care less if it didn't affect their meager incomes.

I try to not care but the anal retentive, OCD part of me wants everything make sense and be logical. I hate it when I can't understand what data is telling me.

Wrathchild, I sincerely apologize for brushing you off. I get obsessive about certain aspects of the game, too, so I understand your concerns.

I looked over the info in the archived "What We Know About the XML" thread, but could find nothing about awards criteria. However, the link is in the thread below. You may be interested in looking it over. Personally, I've never been too keen on messing with the standard XML, but with the provided info, you may decide to make your own custom tweaks.
