One item that really should be addressed...

In hot seat mode, during the turn execution phase, there are many windows that pop up telling players about events. They have obviously primarily been designed for single player games. If two or more players are playing in a room at once (yes, it happened here LOL), then many of these messages lose their meaning entirely because you can't tell who they are for and they come at the players in a stream like this...
"Sweden has declared war on us"
"We have declared war on Sweden"
"Insurrectionists force us to surrender to France"
"Prussia surrenders to us"
There really should be a flag at the top of each of these messages to show players who it applies to.
P.S. Here's another minor, minor complaint... sometimes I would actually like to finish reading Napoleon's maxims. But they move so fast sometimes, there is absolutely no chance. I would love it if these would stay up for 20 seconds or so AND that the player can hit any reasonable key (space, escape, left click mouse) to move on if he doesn't care to see it.
