Patch Question for David Heath

In the last few years patching downloadable games seems to be hit and miss with many manufacturers. Some can be easily patched and others only by the party selling the download. I am assuming thet any version offered directly by Matrix will be OK based on past expierance. Will MWiF be available by 3rd parties and if so will consumers face this issue?
