Just a couple of niggles off the bat

1. Please, please next time...put a volume control in your game. I love the background music, but it's as loud as the combat. I like the combat loud, but not the music.
2. Unrest - I searched the PDF as I didn't remember reading about it and nowhere does it say what to do about it. As it happens I found a post by ericbabe saying that you can do nothing but have to wait "the full time". I guess the number next to the Unrest is the number of turns...it would've been nice to see that in the manual. I was leaving my main troops in the region hoping it would reduce it!

On the plus side, I was playing as Sweden last night and really, really enjoyed it...was on it from 10pm until 2am! Wife was proper annoyed!

Well done. [&o] But please...sort the music out. I love period music in my games...but not THAT loud!

I think it would be a good idea not to tell us how many turns it takes to "quell" unrest.  And it would be cool if troops would have some impact -- sometimes.  However, as we all know, sometimes deploying troops can make a bad situation worse.  So that would be cool too. :)

Something else...I had taken the northern part of Denmark (was it Jutland? Can't remember). Anyway, as I took it, a Prussian Army had entered. Anyway, they sat there quite happy for many turns and every turn I was told Prussian troops had entered Swedish soil and gave me 3 options...Offer an Ultimatum, ignore or declare war (I think).

So....after many turns of selecting ignore, I made a treaty with the UK and then selecting the option Offer an Ultimatum...well, the ultimatum came up "Are you sure you want to DoW on Prussia"...well I thought there must be other options to follow, as one of the original options was Declare Ware on Prussia...so I said yes and sat patiently waiting for other options to show...but they didn't, and I did declare war on Prussia, who managed to wipe out most of my army and take almost all of my provinces within a few turns [:(]

My point being Why was the Offer Ultimatum only followed with Declare War? There was already a Declare War option??

An Barbarossa...my "main" gripe about unrest was that there was nothing in the manual about it. But I am with you in as much as I think troops should affect unrest. Perhaps make it so if they are foraging (stealing from the land) then that has an adverse affect, whereas if they are supplied, that has a positive effect.

Still pissed I lost Sweden!

Yeah this is something I learned through experience. When you issue an Ultimatum, and the window pops up asking "Do you really want to declare war on..."? What that is telling you is that they rejected your Ultimatum, and the AI is checking to make sure you understand the consequences if you push it. If they accept the ultimatum, that window doesn't pop, and the game moves on - meaning you know they backed down.

oic...so the ultimatum is delivered behind the scenes, and the DoW is the result of the ultimatum? Ok...I thought the declaration of war was the ultimatum.

as RG says

you are giving them a choice, back off, or go to war, if they pick war, you are given a chance to back off, or go though with it

alot of times, these are buff, counter buff

and some times, these are set up, to try and get some one to force a war on the other, with out doing it themself, so in your case, Prussia may of been wanting to go to war with you to start with, they get to have there war, with out being seen as the bully

Thanks for clarifying that, RG. I once issued an ultimatum to Prussia and I never heard anything about it again, which I thought was odd. Now I understand why.
