Csatahajos wanted some hors d'oeuvres to munch on before dinner, so .. some of the biggies; Fuso and Ise, and KG-V, Indiana, and Royal Sovereign.

A collective effort by the KJB. Kelley (TomLabel), John (me), Brian (Big B). Yeah, we worked really hard to make this sweet. When people like you appreciate the results, it makes it all worthwhile. I know I speak for Kelley and Brian when I say thank you very much m10bob.

yeah, this is really sweet. I presume you guys work on larger versions and then resize them, if so, could we see the larger versions?

but I may be presuming too much.

I've been wondering the same thing - do you work on large versions and shrink 'em or just enlarge the view until pixels look like bricks?

Can’t speak for Kelley or Brian, but I don’t. If I find a good plan view of a vessel, I’ll shrink that to the right size and compare just to make sure I have the stacks and cranes and guns and decks in the right position, and that the length/height ratio is reasonable, but in general, shrinking just don't do it, so I create each ship in the scale that you see. I’m pretty sure that Kelley and Brian do the same thing.

And then, of course, there's those pesky late war Japanese BBs.

Difficult to get the wave-bobbing flotsam effect right! [:D]

that's really impressive, they pack a lot of detail... reminds me of ships in the bottle kind of thing, magnifying glass and all...
one can only wonder how much time would people "waste" just watching the models, had there been a "larger" view available in-game. Perhaps one day, when my son grows up, he'll get to see witp 2.

Then for the JFBs there’s Hiryu, Shokaku, Junyo, and Shinano.

Simply amazing. I know we have all been saying this since you all posted the first ship pictures months back, but these are simply amazing! And thats even the compressed versions. Cant wait to see them ingame!
Can I make another AFB request? Essex? Midway? Iowa?
Thanks in advance!
Chad

I'm impressed guys! You have come lightyears from the original graphics (recently I've just put up a vanilla 1.0 ver of Wit to test my RAM-drive and I was amazed at how much the art, both ships and planes have changed since then).
Let me also say thank you for your efforts put into this and while I know this is just eyecandy it seriously adds for me for the overal feeling of the game.

Any chance we see this in the game?

Yeah why not, on the surface combat animation screen when a ship is sunk perhaps?

I just sat here and reminded myself that I have walked upon the decks of a class member of all of those ships in that pic, and two of them in the line of duty. I guess that makes me a salty antique flatulent one beyond a shadow of a doubt. Now, not to let my 22 year old son find this out.
