I have only played one game til it's conclusion and I won on somehwta lower settings. Essentially following Terje439's Southern strategy and settings. Seemed rather easy with a win coming in early 1863. Just sit back..and let the Union pound you while you fight defensively.

I certainly am not good but I get the feeling that fighting the AI isnt the way to ever really be good.

If anyone is interested in a game let me know and we can talk about settings etc.
