Other Guard units?

Can any nation build a guard unit? i.e. The Russian Guard etc... Just curious if anyone noticed this.

An exciting read is the battle of Austerlitz of course where the Russian Guard and French Guard battled...

The Russians begin with Guard Infantry in most scenarios. Certainly 1803, 1805, 1812. And yes, any Nation can build Guard if they have the resources. Nations with lower morale Infantry should be careful though, as this act (creating Guard) will lower their morale a bit further. Stronger Nations with higher morale can better afford the luxury of Guard units. Ultimately, its a judgement call - value of having a Guard Infantry with its benefits, vs lower unit morale for awhile, until replacements (hopefully) lift it back up again over time.

I guess the Turks and Spaniards shouldnt build guards....
