What does a "SuperS" mean?

Gentlemen:

I'm still a "newbe" when it comes to this game and I've come across something that I'm not sure what it is. While commanding the German troops and reviewing the info on a PAK36 I noticed under "Unit Specifications" in the left chart display under the heading "Locations" it says "SuperS". The "SuperS" is also mentioned in the weapon display as "37mm/L45, ROF:10, SuperS.

Can anyone tell me what this stands for and/or what it means?

If someone has the time could you also please tell me how or where I can get info on the status of infantry and/or vehicles that take some damage during a firefight? I think I understand the damage icons that show up but is there a way to get more detail?

An example is how many soldiers in a squad are still capable of fighting after an attack when 1 or more were eliminated or wounded. This would be from a squad that is still functioning but obviously at a reduced state. Is this type of detailed info even possible in this game? Thank you!

Superstructure, for a gun basically the gun shield.

These games do not count ammo or men. Hard to grasp when you are used to games that count everything. For squads, all you get are step losses.

SuperS means superstructure. Admittedly on a AT gun it would be more informative it it read 'gunshield' but not all guns have gunshields.

Thank you Sirs for your reply. As you had mentioned Junk2drive I got used to getting a lot of info in other games and I thought I was missing something in this game.

Hi Eagle Strike,

Welcome to Panzer Command!

Currently the game doesn't count individual guys, but rather casualty steps for each squad. Each casualty step diminishes the squad's effectiveness in a number of ways (this is explained in detail in the manual). In general though, if you have a 9 man squad, once it's down to 6 guys it would be the equivalent of Light Casualties, once it's down to 3 guys that's the equivalent of Heavy Casualties, then it's gone. There is a chance each time a squad takes casualties that it may take more than one step or be wiped out entirely. Teams (half squads) are much more vulnerable to that.

Regards,

- Erik
