Okay this has GOT to be a bug

Not a game killer really, but I noticed during an assault on the Russians in 1942 that my mortar teams, with three tubes each, can no longer be used as on call artillery when the first tube runs out of ammo.

When I check the unit, the first tube is out of ammo, the other two have full loads. It looks only the first tube is firing, and then the whole unit is useless for anything other than direct fire attacks when it runs out.

Anyone else notice this?

Not a bug...just the way it works. If the first tube breaks down the same thing occurs.

Okay...I assume the reason it works this way...is because they can't make it work another way? 'Cause I have to think it's not the BEST way.

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

I believe it falls under the 'limitations of the game engine' header. I lost a whole battery of 150mm's last week when counter-battery fire destroyed the #1 gun's HE ammo; funny thing was the battery would still fire smoke missions

I'd thought about that but never seen it happen, and then had it occur in 3 out of my last 4 PBEM's; guess I forgot to 'knock wood' (or have my 'cyclists rotate their tires  )

SPWAW isn't perfect, but its by far the closest I've seen.

Well it's like this, when one of your bros breaks down, you have to stop too. Not to help mind you but to use the chance to burn one and maybe hit on his ole lady while his back is turned. Not to mention downing a few brews. While you crack wise to him about the art of motor cycle maintenance.

I can relate: Daytona Beach is two towns from my home and Bike Week just ended. I didn't realize cyclists in SPWAW had tatoos and constantly shouted 'show me your tits!' :D

Hi I guess you've never seen those Russian Mortar Crew Girls after they've been given a few rides on those big BMW's. Ole LT Spider and Sgt Snake they always know where the best party is. There's this gypsy cossack dude can tatto the Brandenburg gate on your behind for a sausage. OKH wanted to send our KG (the Flying Monkey Circus) up to some thing on the Volga but we said "No Way" and stayed here in Minsk (the road is real sweet and we crusie back and forth on poker runs to Smolensk.)

Funny you should mention that because this is the first thing I thought when I saw the thread "Newbie taking it in the shorts";)
