Allied Airborne First Turn Movement

Should the american airborne groups that start on uncontested maps be able to move on the first turn?
Seems like Allies get a little bit of an advantage here thay may not be historically accurate, these airborne groups get to essentially move twice, first on the night turn, then on the morning of the sixth before the germans can move any of their BGs
IMO, The airborne groups would have been consolidating their forces and taking their primary objectives after the night drop and in the early morning hours. For example, One of the primary D-Day objectives of the 505th PIR was to capture and secure St mere Eglise, the town wasnt occupied by the 3rd battalion till the early morning 0400-0500, and the area fully secured until about 0900-1000. IMO i dont think the allied AB groups should able to abandon their starting map and move out on the night turn
I am not complaining though, Great game so far, cheers to the designers

I think they shouldn't be allowed to move; anyway I don't move them.

I think part of the logic (I can't speak for Steve) was that historically the battlegroups reformed after the scattered drop and were able to be effective. Since the CC engine doesn't allow for the simulation of that scattered drop and formation of adhoc battlegroups, this was the closest abstraction that could be made within the current engine design. Given that there are only two out of all the BG's on the strat map for the Allies that can move at the beginning, I think it's a fair representation. I'm sure any perspective could be argued and the pros would equal the cons and vice versa.

The CC engine could better simulate scattered and ad hoc AB BGs using the
disorganized' teams function until the AB BG gains access to supply.
The provision for a specified chance of movement re-direction on day 1 could also be exploited as 'confusion'.
I'd suggest starting 1058/91 at St Mere Eglise instead of Brehay since St Mere was contested at the drop, and counter-attacked by elements of the 91st Div the next morning.
I'd also move I/6 FJ from the Causeway to St Come du Mont. IRL, FJ-held St Come was attacked all during the 6th. That narrows the choices for 501/101 to either sitting tight in Vierville until T2, or attacking I/6 at St Come, or II/6 at Brevands. As shown on the map below, historically 501/101 BG attacked both.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll mention it to Steve in the event he's up for redesigning the GC.

If anyone wishes to create alternate Battles/operations/Campaigns we'd be happy to host them for everyone to share.
