So there you are, in the middle of the Pacific. Just took a nice coral atoll with two cocoanut piers. You have battle damage, shot off your ammo, and Pearl is 1500 nm away, what to do, what to do.

Hey, presto! You got a fleet train (if you haven’t frittered it away).

A Base Section Dock, a Delta AR, a Dixie AD, a Lassen AE, a Resource AR, an Adamant AS, a Kurumba Auxiliary AO, and a Kitty Hawk AKV.

What's a AKV, is this same/replace the witp' AV?

Does the AI now make use of these (supply ships/tenders)? In witp the AI just used tenders as supply ships.

Can the British still convert ships to form their own fleet train?

An AKV is an aircraft transport – it carries and lands its cargo of planes, fully functional and ready to boogie, just like WiTP. An AV is a floating airbase for float/sea planes, just like WiTP.

All these types (except for the docks) are in WiTP. What they can do in AE is so detailed that a proper AI script for this alone would take half your hard drive. So, the AI uses these types same as it always did. That’s close enuf for regular game-play, but following the AE concept;

Level-1, they work same as they ever did.

Level-2, Woof! Woof! Woof!

No, but they had their own fleet train that appears pretty much when it did. I say no, because the Allied ability to “convert” has been significantly and drastically reduced, in general. Only a very, very limited number of classes may ‘convert’, and only like-to-like, so there’s maybe 10 to 20 merchies that qualify; and those are your best and when they are gone, they never return. Life is different in AE.

Thanks! I have more questions, but I think they'll be more fun to find out the answers to when I have AE.

A Base Section Dock . . .

Just curious, but I would assume that there are limited by a tonnage, and can only service one ship at a time, regardless of tonnage? If so, what is a typical tonnage capacity of one?

Thanks in advance and thanks for the pics, they look great!

Well, we thought about that, we really did. But the AI beaconed, and Gold was on the horizon, and so ...

No tonnage limits for the ARDs, but you only get a very few. Only one ship at a time, and once it's in dock, it's in for the duration. Can handle an Iowa, if necessary. Just think reality.

Thanks for the reply John and . . .

Cool! So when I mod in an Imperial Star Destroyer at 1,243,456 GRT, it can get into one! [:D]

You see things like that and you wonder how anyone could consider going up against the US's industrial might.

Well, that pretty much answers any more questions regarding actual capacity! Great picture!
