Trouble Running On Vista

I just got my new laptop and tried running EiA on it...however when I start up the game it gets to the Main Menu fine, but when I start a new game I have no pull down menus or anything to set up the new game. It just has the picture of all the leaders, but no way to set up the game...somebody please help...I love this game and am dying to play it on my laptop. I tried running it in XP mode, would it make a difference if I used the Administrator function?

I have encountered that a few times on XP (usually after upgrading)

Usually just exiting out of the game and restarting it fixes it for me..

Another common solution for display issues / menus not working etc is to check you have the latest video/graphics card drivers installed. Don't assume your laptop will automatically have them just because it's new !

This came out of the release notes (A few things you might try):

There may be some issues with Microsoft Vista (Screen sizing errors, game not running, etc) and if you do see any difficulties then try the following:
1. Right click on the EiANW.exe file
2. Click properties
3. Click the compatibility tab
4. Check off the compatibility mode and then switch to something other than Vista.

Exiting and/rebooting seem to fix these types of issues.
