Anyone remember Semper FI? The one that they spent all their animation budget on the main-menu, leaving very little for actual game-play? lol
I decided to do some retro war-gaming... Did anyone actually ever bother completing this one?

From the lack of posts I can only conclude that...
#1. This game was a failure in the market.
#2. All the original fans have since passed away from old age.

I still have Semper Fi. It is dated but a very playable game.

Hmm, well it seems they only included 3 campaigns, and they are all too bloody short [:@] Perhaps that's part of the reason, but there are a few interesting things in it. I have never seen combined-assaults used this way... and their close-combat is rather weird compared to what I am used to from the PG series, etc.
I'll finish the Korea campaign tonight, and then do the scenarios before I toss it back into the trash-bin.

Over on Game Depot, they have 3 scenarios for download. Also, if memory serves, Semper Fi came with a scenario maker.

Alright, i shall head over and take a look. I did complete that Korea campaign, which means I'm soon going to be out of playable maps!
Despite having a campaign editor, and other tools to edit how the AI players, I'm surprised how it just seems so vapour-ware now. There really wasn't anything left behind. That's a shame because it looks like the developers actually tried to make it into a decent wargame.

Hmm, I just tried to look at those 3 scenarios now, but it seems the database there can't find them. Oh well it's not the end of the world. Right now it's before 10pm on Friday, and I have finished playing all scenarios now in Semper Fi. So...... it was something new alright, not many wargames involve the use of Smoke
And now... I think I will delve a little bit into Fantasy General this week and next. I have a feeling that one may take quite some time...
