Defeating Poland

I'm playing as Russia and have declared war on Poland. I did not form an alliance with Prussia as I wanted to get a bit more of the "pie". There are only 4 provinces left to conquer, and yet there is no surrender. I have Warsaw and yet the war goes on.

I assume I'm missing something in the rules. Does a "country" surrender or is it required to capture the entire country to end the war?

BTW, what would be the games historical approach to the partition of Poland? It appears that one should form an alliance with Prussia and declare "total war" against Poland.

I don't think Warsaw is the Cap of Poland at this time

I considered that-possibly Krakow. I have defeated the remnants of the Polish army there, but perhaps have not taken the city yet.

I just captured the city of Krakow-Poland is gone.

And yes, it had the star in it. I just did not zoom in enough to see it last night.

Thanks for the response.

If I had played another few minutes I would not have had to ask the question or spend 30 minutes searching the rules-so it goes.

No hassle, glad it worked out, I know I attack the wrong ones every once in a while and wonder what and why, then when I look, start muttering about lack of brain power (ahhh, mine)
