Kamikaze Defense - No Greasylake please

Ok my opponent is an astute player and he has scoured the forums for info on how to best employ Kamikaze's . I being an astute player have done the same so I have an idea of what he might try.
So here's the deal:
Kamikaze's have been coming usually in groups of at elast three different units/types. These groups come in at various altitudes - some very low and some very high. Obviously this affects the CAP. My CV's are keeping up but I just lost a CVE to a meager strike of 12 unescorted Sally's that were split into high/low configuration. I had 67 FM-2 on CAP and they still broke through.
My questions is this:
Will stacking my CAP help this at all or am I more likely to disperse my CAP even more
For example if I have eight CVE's, will putting two groups at 12 k, 17K , 22 K, and 27 K each help the situation?

it may help but I´m not sure it would make a 67 fighter Cap bullet prove. In WITP all is about numbers. 67 FM-2s is a reasonable Cap but it is far from uber and that means that 12 Sallies can break through if they are lucky, even though I would expect them being shot down most of the time. As it´s all about numbers, get 200 fighters on Cap and nothing gets through anymore.l

Altitude spread can help.
Numbers definately solves the problem.
FM-2s are a problem of themselves. Being only 4 gun armament they laxck the necessary firepower to consistantly bring down a medium bomber - even an IJA one! If you recheck the combat animation or combat txt does it show a lot of aircraft damaged?
4x .50cals IRL was not a problem, in this game it does seem to be. You might be better off re-equipping with F4F-4 for the CVEs

Thx FOW. I guess I just thought it would make semse to upgrade to the most modern type. I guess the 6x 50 cal is better in this situation
