I've just fired up the Random Battle Generator and got the error shown in the pic below. It's fair to say this has probably been reinstalled since the first time I bought it.
Windows XP SP3
4GB Ram
Intel Core 2 Quad 2.66GHZ
Internet Explorer 8
Any ideas pls?

Random Campaign Generator and Campaign Editor did not give me any errors...I didn't go past the first screen, but I didn't get any errors.

Judge,
Unfortuneatly IE8 is not supported in the latest patched version on PCK.
However the soon to be released patch/enhancement will fully support IE8.

Whoa back Stridor...if memory serves, this game required IE8 did it not? I'm pretty sure there was a furore about having to install a new Internet Explorer...especially one so young as IE8 at the time?
What happened? I only installed IE8 because of this game (although it turned out not to be a bad decision).

It required IE7, I think.
And the furor was mighty, but highly limited in membership.[;)]

IE8 did not exist when PCK was released. The furor was over IE6 not working and Stridor fixed it soon after.
IE8 is a new product. The patch will fix it. I know you can't be patient so find something to do while we wait.

Yes it was limited in membership....but it
must have been IE8.....
Thinking about it, yeah...probably IE7. The furor (in my case) was because I had left IE and moved to Firebird
So yeah, perhaps it's because I've "upgraded" to IE8 (as you tend to have to do when you are on the Microsoft Gravy Train)

I'll be patient. I just saw on a thread someone talking about Random Battle Generators and how PCK was great and having never tried it, thought I should give it a go.
I'll wait... ... ...

That's too bad.
The RBG is good; especially for extending life. I said that in another thread.
--------
Ricks' notion that one should be able to punch in what exact units he wants with the unit names he wants and then have enemy units randomly generate "out there" (on a chosen map) is good.
Right now The RBG gives you a general force type (eg tank heavy or inf heavy) with the generic unit names. Some say the generic unit names ("medium tank") contribute to a desirable "fog of war" effect.

Unless you want to change the driving xml files (the presets) in which case you can have exactly as you desire.

Yep, the RBG already supports that if you don't mind editing a file or two.
