Ground unit training

Hi-Is it possible to train Inf,Arm, etc. in WITP,CHS and(the soon to come) AE? My understanding is, that after a ground unit gets to 100% on planning next objective, it is possible to train them.

If so ,how, under what conditions, etc.? Or, is there a reference I can look up? I tried some searches, but found only references to pilot training.

Many thanks, Hugh Browne

This one's in the manual - which I admit is often the last place I look, too - but here you go.

Quixote-Thanks.1. But, is this for AE or WITP?
2. Also, the chart says one can train units, but not how.

In WITP, I have a unit with 100% planning, but could not see how to start training. Any ideas?

Thanks, HB

1. It's for WitP. I'd assume that they haven't re-written the code for this in AE as it's really not broken, but you know what they say about assuming. You may want to ask in the AE forums if you're still curious.

2. You don't have to do anything. If the 100% prep condition is met, and you aren't at the experience maximum listed on the chart, then you have a chance at an increase each turn. It either happens or it doesn't, but either way it doesn't require any specific action on your part.

In AE, there is a unit mode called Rest/Training.  Units will train when they reach 100 for an objective and they have rested up.

I'm not sure how it worked in the original game.  I believe they would just start training automatically when they reached 100.
