Shawn I think there is something missing with the AI and pitchers
the AI is pulling the starter and then putting in worn out pitchers, and just leaving them in the game
this game, the starter had thrown 33 pitches (3 in the first, 6 in the 2nd !!!)
in the 4th, it pulled the starter and then starting bringing in tired pitchers, went though 2 in a inning and then brought in Morrow, and left him to rot
(his bullpen is burned out, so Morrow took one for the team, I understand that, but, he should never of been brought in to start with like that, the starter was fine and was winning the game, why pull him at the start of the 4th inning ?)
game before this, it brought in a Hurt pitcher, and then let him throw 140+ pitches (19 or 20 runs too !!!!)
it really looks like the game reads how tired a pitcher is and then pulls them based on that, but if a pitcher is tired when he comes in, the AI does not see him get tired (he already is) and just leaves him in there
(I am happy with my 35 runs or so the last two game (makes up for some of the other games, but it shouldn't of happened)

and this is the guy who was hurt the last time we played, he is healthy now, but still worn out
score was 5-2, I was winning, but it was still close, when he came in, it was fire away (the starter shouldn't of been pulled)
not sure if they got someone who is not tried other then the closer, but they do have a spot starter, that they keep pushing back, he was fresh

those 26 runs in the last two games, really ruined his stats for the early part of the year !!!

Something is definitely wrong with the pitcher usage and fatigue modeling in your association. I haven't seen anything like it in PureSim. Even before I edited the fatigue modeling in my association, I didn't see anything this bad. Have you edited anything in your puresim.xml file? edit: By that, I mean, have you tried to play around with the fatigue modeling in your .xml to find a better setting?

no it is stock, I don't like to mod things, then they are not as planned (then I should complain about me instead of them
I am just wondering if the game does not know a pitcher is tired, if he does not get tired in the game

I'd be interested to know how tired your opponent's pitchers are before the game. Is the starter for that day fully rested before taking the mound? Or is he at 60, 70, 80% to start the game? Maybe it is just a matter of decreasing the time it takes for pitchers to recover from their previous starts.
But, for your other questions, I don't see anything in the xml to answer them. I know there are threshold, reduction, and recovery settings. But, I don't know if the threshold and reduction settings actively take place during the game, or if they are set once a pitcher is brought in, or taken out.

Now, wait a second, Hard Sarge. You have the freakin' Mariners playing at PNC Park? No wonder the baseball gods got peeved! [:'(]
Do you use "player ratings change during season"? This does NOT work properly and seriously screws up stat results.

I thought that the issue with changing ratings during the season had been fixed some time ago.

Yeah, there were some problems initially but I've used it for many, many seasons after Shaun fixed it and it works fine, imo.

no that is the Kingdome, that is the pic I got (I think I may of click on PNC first, then changed it to the Kingdom)
yes, I been looking at the Pitchers before a game starts, that is how I know that the relief pitchers were worn out

yea, I went back in, using the stock ballparks, it keeps what ever park pic you had, I was able to import the Yankee's, and then change it to the Kingdome and it the pic stays as the Yankee Park

I'm getting the same results as Hard Sarge (as far as I can tell). I'm new to the game, but I have started off my season at 7-0 and every game the computer keeps bringing in worn out relief pitchers which are getting lit up. [:D]
Can't complain though as I got this game for free. [;)]

I do think relievers recovery slowly, so I changed the XML to make Reliever Recovery 175 instead of 100. Basically 1 day off brings them back to around Good condition.

Can you give me the exact details on your association configuration options? When I get home I want to test this. Actually, maybe I will take a copy of your association. Let me see if I can add a drop box to the web site...

which to be fair the AI did bring in Dicky to pitch instead of the #5 guy, but he only lasted 3 innings, and then it was off to the races

At least you're getting realistic results for the Mariners. [:D]
BTW the Mariners play at Safeco field if you're playing a season post-2000. The Kingdome was imploded in 2000 and no longer exists (R.I.P. eyesore of a stadium).

thanks
I thought they needed some help (in fact, other then facing me, they doing decent, were 16-18 when I last seen them, and I think I got 6 wins vs them)
even worse, I got KC playing in the Polo Grounds (they really need some help)

I've started off at 7-1 with the Mariners, but I've run into worn out rosters like you have.
Hehe yeah Safeco is very much a "pitcher's park" with deep fences.

Have injuries to pitchers gone way up? I'm playing a fictional association and it seems I have two or three pitchers on the DL all season long, season after season. Maybe related to this issue?
