1812 - AI

Playing as Russia on Blucher / Blucher. Didn't fight a single battle with France, just retreated deeper and sent out my cav to destroy their depots. In Nov 1812 France is "forced by insurrectionists to surrender", despite me having done nothing at all! Looks like their morale took a huge blow from Spain or something. Perhaps France should start at higher national morale, after all, the real defeat in 1812 didn't lead to France surrendering...

I have done some testing here. It seems that Britain will defeat France in a major battle in July 1812 most of the time (the very first turn of that scenario). France loses more than 100 NML, leaving them in negative territory for turn 2 of the scenario.

May I suggest for gameplay purposes that the French begin with much higher NML for 1812 to prevent the kind of anti-climatic situation described above?

We are hoping to do another data file patch before too long and we might be able to address this for that.  You might try modding the moral value in the players.txt file in the 1812 scenario folder.  We'll be happy to take any suggestions if anyone would care to experiment with higher values for French NML.

Didn't play the scenario, but IRL French morale was at nearly peak level in 1812, there was a problem with Spain insurgency but that wasn't a high danger one, so starting NML should be high.

I will experiment with higher French morale.
