Sorry for the newbie question but can I play just a single country in this game like Russia or Austria instead of playing the entire grand coalition on one side? [&:]

I'd like to play the grand campaign but playing several countries at once seems a bit daunting.

I was looking at Crown of Glory Emperor edition and it seems players can pick a single country to play (e.g., Prussia or Turkey and let the AI handle the rest of the countries).

Yes, you can play as any of the major powers. Great game.


SORRY I was thinking of something else (not playing as French) you do have to play as either the French or the "coalition" as far as I know. Actually Austria or Prussia may be no fun anyway as you would probably spend a good part of the game under control.

Both Yes and No.
You contorl the whole Coalition if you select them, but in some scenario Coalition is only 1-2 Nations so an alternative is to select other scenario than 1805.

My personal favourite is 1812, Invasion of Russia.
