I have asked this a couple of times in different places but never seemed to get an answer.

I liked the originals and will buy the new version but I like to play solo so I will try again ..

Is there now an option to turn off the turn replays - most dull to sit through a turn you have just made all over again - please answer - if there is - I will buy it.

I think playing human vs human with "hotseat" turned off will give you what you want.

But doesn't that negate solo play?

By solo play do you mean against the AI?

I thought you ment you were playing both sides as human.

I'm not sure what the turn replays you reference are, but when I tested against the AI I only had to watch my turn unfold once.

I found out by accident that if you turn off the Fog of War option the replay is also turned off. Since you are playing solo (as I do quite frequently) you really don't need to keep the Fog of War option on anyway.

And yes, if you select the Human vs. Human option you'll see the Play Hotseat selection at the bottom of the screen. Clicking on Play Hotseat buttom will turn off the replay.

So the replay can be turned off 2 different ways (see above).

No - what I meant was hotseat solo play - in the old games there was no way to turn off the replays in this mode. I generally still play with fog of war on when I play solo as the computer will still not allow a unit to see an enemy it cant in fog of war - but with it off I can see and shoot at anything - with cannons for example. So - with fog of war on and in hot seat play - does it still play the replays automatically.

Yes you can (please see my post above).

It works like this: When you select a scenario to play you are prompted as to whether you want to play Human vs. Human, Email Opponent, etc. For solo play you need to select Human vs. Human. Below the Human vs. Human selection you'll see "Play Hotseat." To play solo click on the "Play Hotseat" phrase below and you will de-select the Hotseat option. The replay will be turned off.
