Money/Attitude

I am curious about something concerning cash flow between nations.
a. Of course, it is possible to subsidize nations with the "subsidy" function.
b. You can also give them money through the use of a treaty.
c. Finally, it is possible to dramatically overpay for resources in trades, in effect subsidizing a nation.
QUESTION 1: How do these various methods affect a nation's attitude rating toward you?
QUESTION 2: How does a nation's attitude affect your interaction dynamics if it is controlled by a player? (for instance, a PBEM player may like you, but the game may say his nation hates you--does his nation's hate for you have any effect in any aspect of the game?)
