Command Control: Movement

I am trying to move a formation with CC ON. I realize I need to move towards the objective, and that the hexes show which places my unit can move to be considered towards the objvective.

My question is: I thought that I could move a unit in another hex that is not 'towards the objective' if I spend an order point. The unit I want to move says C:3, so I assume I have 3 order points, but I cannot get him to move to the adjacent hex I want (he has enough move pts).

Is there a special key or thing to do to get a unit to expend an order point?

Any help would be great; I just downloaded this game and its cool; if I can get this working it will be x5 cooler.

Hi :)

If you can't move it to step aside from original plan, then you should either waite one turn and make 'forced' move (costs orders). In case you need to move unit you should move it to hex that it offers you and after that move to hex you want (don't spend orders).

Remember allways to givvve abjective so far that unit has wide range in possible hexes that it can go. This in advancce. In defence it is wiser to set object at the back of the unit, thisway it don't use any unnessecary orders when it retreats. (Retreat don't split platoon by giving one more obejct to the un, but keeps objective same as originally planned.)

and whellcome :D
