incoming missile-micro manage avoidance or no?

In ANW or in CE (I didn't want to post there also), when there is an incoming missile to the player's aircraft, is there a difference between micro manage (increase speed, change course, and change attitude) vs just leave it alone?
Thank you [:)]

I think that it does help to micro-manage missile evasion in both instances.
For example, some missiles require radar guidance. If your plane is engaged at maximum range and you dive below the radar horizon of the firing unit, you can cause the missile to lose radar lock-on.
Also, your evading unit may not go to Maximum speed without you ordering it to do so.
As well, every unit presents a different radar aspect in Harpoon. Therefore, if you turn and run from a missile, you usually present a smaller radar cross-section than if you let the missile approach you from broadside. That having been said, I think that Harpoon evasion is generally to try and run perpendicular to the approach path of the weapon. The AI generally tries to get outside the presumed cone of detection from the seeker head of the incoming weapon. I prefer to run, but others might try that tactic, instead.
