RIP Shippers,he was an inspiration.He lived on his own untill he was 109 years old!

He probably wouldn't want any of us grieving for him, but that didn't stop me from crying upon hearing the news.
Had a fairly busy day, and this sobered up my evening quite a bit.
I'll see if I can still get to the war memorial and light a candle for him, but where I just moved, it's officially part of the cemetary,
and that is closed during the night...

When Henry visited the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Yeovilton in 2006,there was a Sopwith Floatplane there from the Great War,it transpired that he had actually worked on it in service!

Very sad, and one can only have great admiration for him.
It’s good to read he went around school’s talking about his past. Hope it inspires those children he met to better things in life.

Proof that men will never hit 120 years old.
Women will always live longer, the world record is 128 years old, set by a woman of course.
Oh well, RIP.
