Look for non-experts to play 1vs1 WWII scenarios

Post by kirkgregerson »

Look for players to play either some of the WWII global campaign scenarios or maybe the OstFront. I've been directed to the http://www.advancedtactics.org/scenariobank.php scenario bank and it seems many cool thinks to play. The Ost Front one looks good too.

Let me know if you're interested in 1vs1 game!

How experienced are you?

The Ostfront is a massive scenario. If you are a new player then it might be better for you to play a smaller scenario to get a grasp of the basic rules.

PBEM is the best way to learn. If you want to play an Eastern Front scenario look for something a smaller.

GPW/ The Russian Front are still large but easier to manage.

PM me if your intereseted, could start Monday though.

Try Russia 41 for some good east front action, still relatively easy to handle and yet give the players strategic and operational challenges.
Ostfront, GPW and Archduke's Barbarossa are all bigger and more complex scenarios. You might get a good game if you found a player of equal skill, but a more experienced player would completely whip a "newbie" player in these maps. (Of course, a more experienced player will usually win in any scenario, but at least you'll have a chance in a simpler scenario)

If you want to make war over the whole world, then WaW (World at war) is the thing (look for the updated version by explorer2), but it's also a pretty big scenario.

Alternatively, if you want some simpler PBEM's first, the North Africa scenario (if that was the name) is less complex and faster.

I remember being whipped by Jay Doubleyou in Russia 41.

Offer is still there to play a PBEM, Russia 41 is still fun to play even if you get whipped. You'll still learn the game.

Yes, you never learn as much as in games that get lost. I really learned a lot and I am still doing [:D]

North Africa is badly balanced. I guess it is impossible to win as Allies. I even lost against AI.
