Where are the CRTs?

Isn't getting combat results showing the column and die roll rather useless if we don't also see the applicable Combat Results Table? [&:]

Like Willgamer, I also was wondering where I can view the Combat Results Table, as well as where I can find what are the effects of the various events. As it stands now when I receive a message that a given event has taken place, I often have no idea what it means, even if it is an event affecting the country that I'm playing. Any guidance on where to find this information, would be gratefully appreciated.

They are in the "consts.csv" files (in each of the Scenario folders).

Believe it or not, I was actually thinking of something readable like documentation [:'(]

Well, it would be nice. [;)]
Interestingly enough, just for the heck of it I changed all the Defender CRT "7 to 1" odds to "100". Just wanted to prove to myself that it would cause elimination all the time. It didn't seem to have any effect at all! Since the final odds are seemingly calculated AFTER all the other modifiers are taken into account, I'm at a loss to explain this.

It is, it's a spreadsheet under Excel [:'(] !

Been there; did that; not what I expect for a professional wargame docs [:-] [8|]

I'm more concerned now with whether they actually work as intended then where they are...
DISREGARD-- had to change another file for it to take eeffect.

CRTs as taken from the 1939 scanario folder

As long as I'm pulling stuff out of the csv files:
This one shows which countries get bonus in winter (green) and which ones receive a penalty (yellow).

And this one shows all countries with an Upkeep Modifier other than "1" (for example the USSR modifier is 1. This means Germany pays 6 times what the Soviets pay).

Intrestingly enough I know exactly how every single one of these CRT's works exactly except the "Attackers losses in air strikes" Table - noone knows how exactly the column is determined under which the die-roll is made to determine the attacker's losses during an air-strike (i.e when exactly is column 1 used and when column 5??) ....seemingly Wastelands wants to keep this a secret/nebulous...for whatever reason.
oh well...

Good work carnifex, keep those coming
Maybe you can merge those info into nice tutorial

Thank you very much for the tables. I have a question in regard to the application of the land combat CRTs for the attacker:
On first glance it looks as if an attack is a good bargain even at only 3:1 strength ratio since the attacker multiplier are all below "1" no matter what the die roll. That is not my personal experience though.
Is the attacker loss (say 0.5 times defender loss at 3:1) based also on the defenders SP base or are they calculated based on the attackers SP base which is at least 3 times higher for this example. Then the absolute loss for the attacker is actually 50% higher than the defenders. That fits better with what I am seeing.
But if the latter, then you can loose more than the defender also in a 7:1 attack even though your percentage is - say - just 0.2 times the defenders loss but you have 7 times more SPs. (i.e. 7x0.2 > 1).

What if the odds are 1:1?
Also, maybe having the table pop up when you hover the mouse over the proposed combat would be a good idea?

Carnifex- Thanks! That's both useful and raises interesting new questions... [;)]

In SC when you propose a combat sequence an estimate of attacker and defender losses is displayed at the top of the screen. Of course there is a randomizer of plus or minus one to either sides' estimate, but at least you know at a glance what you're getting yourself in for.
Sure is a nice feature for expediting turns.

That would be a very useful feature. I hope they implement it.

Yeah jeffreys there are a lot of nice features in games of this genre, not just isolated to SC. Thing is no one, i repeat NO ONE, takes the time to research the genre to figure out what is useful to the design and what isn't. So here we are another entry level strategic scale game that will see a lot of patches, SC1 had 9, before it is anywhere close to being cutting edge. It totally defies logic and I'm not going to get on board with someones effort to make a game of this scale that has disregarded all the improvements that have been made over time just because they were lazy at research, I do my research!
You know though....I want to help, its just ingrained in me, I want to pass on what I've learned, what's applicable to making things "better"'. Its just like trying to instill in your children the things of your life that you know will help theirs be easier, but they just never seem to listen, and it is very frustrating and I don't know what the answer is.
I see these wastelands guys with some novel features, but still, they don't have a clue, like youngsters, you can't tell them, they rationalize this or that and they don't see the regression of their design decisions, they have to learn for themselves...all over again for someone like me. I guess...really....its my problem...I just can't get on board with all these mistakes from past transgressions... I can't go back..I have to go forward, its momentum, I'm running out of time, my life is a finite design, when its over I can't interact and I can't go back cause going back is wasting my life's time.

@SeaMonkey, our own design is Bitter Glory. For Time of Wrath we have used licensed engine, which we are trying to put on the edge of it's possibilities.
